biography
Pete Waterman is a legendary figure in British pop music, best known as one-third of the chart-dominating production team Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) and founder of PWL (Pete Waterman Limited). With over 500 million records sold worldwide, he helped launch the careers of icons like Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Bananarama, and Jason Donovan—defining the sound of late-’80s pop.
He also co-created and hosted the cult-favourite dance music TV show The Hitman and Her, a trailblazing club-night series that captured the energy of UK nightlife and became a pop culture phenomenon.
Pete later reached a new generation of music fans as a judge on Pop Idol, the show that helped launch the careers of Will Young and Gareth Gates.
From the studio to the screen, Pete Waterman remains one of the most influential and recognisable figures in UK pop history.
