Juliet Roberts is a British singer-songwriter, who came to the attention of Soul Music fans following her featured vocals on the top 10 hit single “It’s Over” by The Funk Masters.
Following that she began a four-year stint as songwriter and vocalist for the jazz group Working Week, extensively touring and supporting phenomenal acts such as Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel and Herbie Hancock. During these years she also taught British television viewers vocal performance basics on the UK’s Rock School TV series.
After this phase of her career Roberts collaborated with British house group L.A. Mix on their two albums, On the Side and Coming Back for More respectively and appears on several tracks, among them the single “We Shouldn’t Hold Hands in the Dark”, which charted in the UK Singles Chart. The mastermind behind L.A. Mix was British DJ, producer, and songwriter Les Adams.
Roberts’s profile continued to rise as she presented Channel 4’s Solid Soul television programme with DJ Chris Forbes.
Her first solo album entitled ‘Natural Thing’ produced by Danny D, (a.k.a. D Mob) spawned four U.S Dance chart top 10 successes. ‘I Want You’, ‘Free Love’’, Caught in the Middle’ and ‘Needin U’ and three UK top 20 hits: “So Good”, “Bad Girls” and “Needin U II.
A second album was released entitled ‘Beneath the Surface’ for the Dune Records label. With collaborations from Courtney Pine, CBE, and MOBO award winner Denys Baptiste.
Juliet continues to expand her songwriting credits with Al Green, Billy Porter & Big Sean to name a few and tours with pianist Janette Mason and jazz singer Vimala Rowe on a new project AYRA.
